The Thelma Scruggs Endowment

The CNM Financial Aid and Scholarship Services in partnership with the Workforce and
Community Success Division in accordance with the normal criteria used to select any and all
scholarship award winners shall select recipients of the scholarship.
However, to qualify for scholarships recipients must also:
Be an African American student enrolled at CNM
Preference shall be given to those students pursuing Early Childhood Education
degrees or certificate

Students selected for the award will receive the funds at the beginning of the term in which
their qualified internship or service learning is to begin.

The scholarship may be awarded to the same student in successive term until the course of
study is completed provided the recipient continues to meet the guidelines and is making satisfactory academic progress toward a degree
