Success CHSS (Boye)

The Boye Foundation CHSS Success Award is available to Central New Mexico Community College students receiving of their Associates Degree from the School of Communication, Humanities, and Social Science. This award is intended to help an outstanding student whose goal is to continue their education at a four year institution and pursue a bachelor’s degree. It will be awarded to a student who has demonstrated a commitment to improving their future through education and awarded to the top applicant based on CNM academic history, strength of personal statement and intention of continuing their education. Applicants must be graduating Fall or Spring with a CHSS certificate or Associates’ degree in Liberal Arts, Psychology, Sociology, Communications, Anthropology, History, or Political Science as a primary major (except Alternative Teacher Licensure), not received a Bachelor’s degree, financial aid eligible, have a 3.5 GPA or higher, graduating in the Fall or Spring semester, and have applied to CNM graduation. Students must write a personal statement of two pages or less addressing their goal of transfer to a four-year institution, plan for obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree, and how their associate’s degree at CNM will help them reach their educational goals. Student needs to request a letter of recommendation from an instructor in the program area of study.
